Our Approach

ZeroNext's comprehensive methodology for transforming underutilized land into thriving sustainable agriculture projects.

Sustainable AgricultureStep by Step

ZeroNext's approach is built on a simple but powerful idea: connect land, expertise, and capital to cultivate sustainable prosperity. We partner with landowners to plant Miscanthus and Paulownia on their land, funded by investors who share our vision for green growth. Our team handles the project from start to finish, ensuring professional cultivation, management, and monetization.

Site Evaluation & Planning

Site Evaluation & Planning

Every project begins with identifying the right land. ZeroNext's agronomists work with landowners to assess soil conditions, climate, and acreage to determine the optimal planting mix of Miscanthus and Paulownia. We design a custom cultivation plan for each site, aiming to maximize yield and ecological benefits. Even if your land is sloping or low-quality, we can likely put it to productive use.

Planting & Establishment

ZeroNext oversees the entire planting process using best-in-class methods. For Miscanthus, we typically plant rhizomes or shoots in prepared fields; for Paulownia, we plant fast-growing saplings. We provide the seedlings, nutrient management, and irrigation support to ensure high survival and healthy growth. Our approach emphasizes regenerative practices: minimal tilling, no excessive chemicals, and agroforestry techniques that integrate well with existing farm activities.

Maintenance & Growth

Maintenance & Growth

As the Miscanthus and Paulownia mature, ZeroNext stays closely involved to support optimal growth. Miscanthus fields require little intervention beyond perhaps a yearly mowing of edges. Paulownia trees grow rapidly and may require light thinning or pruning, which we assist with to maximize timber quality. Healthy crops mean consistent yields for decades: Miscanthus can produce annual harvests for 15+ years, and Paulownia can regrow and be harvested multiple times over its lifespan.

Harvest & Market Sales

When it's time to harvest, ZeroNext coordinates and manages the entire process, from cutting and baling to transportation and sales to buyers.

Miscanthus Harvest

Miscanthus Harvest

Miscanthus is typically harvested annually after the growing season, once the grass has naturally dried and concentrated its energy in the roots. We arrange for cutting, baling, and transportation of the biomass to buyers - such as bioenergy facilities or processing companies - often under pre-negotiated offtake agreements to ensure fair pricing.

Paulownia Timber Sales

Paulownia timber is harvested once the trees reach target size, usually around year 7-10 for the first cycle. We handle the careful felling and milling of logs, and connect with timber buyers in high-value markets. Thanks to strong demand for sustainable lumber, we capitalize on the best market opportunities worldwide.

Revenue Optimization

Revenue streams from both grass and timber are realized in a planned timeline: yearly cash flow from Miscanthus and substantial payouts from timber sales at harvest milestones. We work with multiple buyers to ensure competitive pricing and maintain strong relationships with end-users across bioenergy, construction, and specialty product markets.

Returns & Carbon Credits Distribution

Returns & Carbon Credits Distribution

ZeroNext operates on a win-win revenue sharing model. After each sale, proceeds are distributed transparently - landowners receive their agreed portion as land lease payment or crop revenue, and investors receive returns on their investment. Additionally, we document carbon sequestration and work with verification bodies to turn these gains into certified carbon credits, providing bonus revenue when sold to third parties.
